PAWNMASTER TRANSITION GUIDE

Moving from PawnMaster? Start with your records.

Bravo’s current migration guidance says PawnMaster is being sunset. A switching plan should begin with your specific version, written dates and data requirements. Do not assume that every store has the same deadline or that every historical field will transfer.

1. Confirm what applies to your store

Ask for your product/version, the support and service dates that apply to it, and your options for accessing records after a move. Keep the written response with your conversion plan. Our source check did not establish one universal shutdown date.

2. Keep a usable copy of your records

Work with your current provider to obtain backups and supported exports. Confirm how a backup can be restored or read, who can perform that work and how you will retain access after ending a subscription. A file you cannot open is not a tested recovery plan.

3. Compare more than one route

Bravo is one transition option to evaluate. Also compare other providers against the same workflow, quote and data requirements. Review our seven profiles, then have the shortlisted vendors demonstrate the actual steps your staff use.

4. Reconcile the trial conversion

Ask for a sample import. Check customer counts, inventory, outstanding principal and charges, maturity dates, partial payments, layaways and historical totals. Include edge cases such as lost tickets, extensions, refunds and multi-item transactions where relevant. For specialist records, confirm the retention and export requirements that apply to your business.

5. Plan the cutover and rollback

Choose a quiet window, confirm the last transaction in the old system and first transaction in the new one, and identify the person who can stop the change if totals do not reconcile. Agree how to handle transactions entered during migration and how to recover if the move fails.

6. Check the first close and the first week

Reconcile the first day’s drawers, reports and outstanding balances. Keep a list of exceptions and who owns each fix. Confirm reference access to the old records and avoid disposing of old equipment or deleting backups until you have validated the result.
